The Museum of Hamburg History traces the development of Hamburg as a city, from its establishment in the Middle Ages to the present as well as expectations for years to come. Educational displays chronicle the city's two main disasters - the Great Fire of 1842 and the destruction brought on by WWII. Several city models and a life-size replica of a steamer complete the visit.
